ESSENTIAL LIFE SKILLS OBEDIENCE 201
Essential Life Skills Obedience 201 is open to all dogs who have successfully completed ELS 101. This is a 7-week progressive course. In ELS 101 you taught your dog the concept of disengagement and through the games you played, your dog learned to focus and engage with you. Your dog developed calmness, increasingly grew more confident and comfortable in his own space. ELS 201 class will adapt and use those games to prepare you and your dog for real life situations by putting those games into practical use while you learn some new games too.. Each week you and your dog will walk through set ups of real life. You will use disengagement to call your dog away from another dog or person or walk calmly by them by playing a game your dog already knows. You will build more calmness in real life situations by telling your dog to “go to bed” when a person comes into their space. . You will sharpen the mechanics of disengagement when you apply it's use in a set up situation of walking around a corner and there's another dog. In the future when unexpected situations arise you will be prepared. Your dog will walk confidently through each situation with you. These set ups will give you the opportunity to hone your skills and give you the self- assurance to walk your dog on a trail, or on the street where you live. In the future when you see another person, or another dog, no sweat, you and your dog can handle that. The goal of ELS 201 is to set you and your dog up for success in the familiar and comfortable environment of class. This class will prepare you and your dog for the situation before you find yourself IN the situation.
GRADUATE OBEDIENCE 301 – DROP-IN
This drop-in pet obedience class is a continuation of all obedience skills learned in Beginner Obedience 101 and Advanced Beginner Obedience 201 in a fun atmosphere combined with optimal distractions and real life situations. Graduation from CSC’s Advanced Beginner Obedience 201 is required.
